This week we sat down with husband and wife duo Romy and Erik Jacobson and asked them some questions for our Agent Spotlight. Erik and Romy work together at Elite Pacific Properties, together they help clients from Kamuela to Kailua-Kona, specializing in the Kohala Coast Resorts.
Tell us a little about yourself: We are a husband-wife Realtor team that met working on America II, an America’s Cup contender in the 1987 racing season. We live in Waikoloa, on the west side of the Big Island. Romy was awarded Realtor Salesperson of the Year for 2017.
What do you like best about living on Hawaii Island? We love that there is room to roam. There is a true spirit of Aloha, and the incredible beaches and people make living on Hawaii Island the BEST.
What's your favorite activity outside of work? We love Sailing, diving, and hanging out on our lanai!
What do you like most about working at Elite Pacific Properties? The company is very supportive and takes the agent's needs into consideration so that we may best serve our clients.
What is your favorite home currently on the market? Romy is drawn to artistic and architecturally unique properties and recently showed this gem in Hawi- 56-3163 Puu Mamo Dr. It isn’t one of our listings, but it is just spectacular. Designed by Konig Eizenberg, it has a very Frank Lloyd Wright mid-century modernism.
If someone is thinking about moving or buying property on the Big Island, what is your best advice? We work with a lot of resort buyers, so we recommend that they book some time in the resort/complex/neighborhood they are considering purchasing in to get a feel for the area.
What's your favorite beach on the Big Island and why? Kauna'oa (Mauna Kea) Beach because it is the quintessential Hawaii beach
If I wasn’t selling real estate we’d be... Traveling the world on a sailboat
